Latto and Christina Aguilera Hint at Possible Music Collab Coming Soon

The record is set to be released today (Oct. 12).

Latto may be adding another pop star to her list of legendary collaborations after teasing that she might have a record on the way with none other than the iconic “voice of a generation,” Christina Aguilera.

The ladies initially teased the secret project during an exchange on X, formerly Twitter, on Tuesday, Oct. 10, with the “Big Energy” emcee asking the veteran singer, “Should we tell them?[eyes and mouth covered emojis] @xtina.” Aguilera quoted the post, replying, “I think it’s time babe…”

This quickly drew reactions from both camps eagerly wondering, “Are we gonna get Dirty 2.0?!” referencing Aguilera's bold R&B and hip-hop track, released in 2002 as part of her fourth studio album "Stripped." The song was a powerful response from Aguilera, expressing her discontent with the lack of control over her own image.

Latto had been dropping hints about a mysterious project in the days leading up to the online exchange. On Wednesday, the rapper shared a post where Aguilera could be heard hitting one of her signature sky-high notes in the background as Latto asks, “Did somebody say just eat?” The new record is set to be released today (Oct .12).

The collaboration marks Latto's second venture with a veteran pop star. In 2022, she joined forces with Grammy Award-winning singer Mariah Carey for the remix of her hit single "Big Energy." This remix sampled Mariah's '90s classic "Fantasy," featuring the late Ol’ Dirty Bastard.

The duo surprised viewers when they performed the track live for the first time at the “BET Awards” 2022.
