Not her man (as the tale from the record has it), but her mother, and the guiding, loving words she graces Solana with on a regular basis. SZA shared a lengthy text message from her mother via Twitter where she explains how to jump over life’s larger obstacles one leg at a time.  

Fans were first introduced to Mama Rowe by way of SZA’s CTRL opus, as her words of wisdom preluded the album and echoed throughout the narrative of each following track. The Grammy-nominated singer has an iconic support system behind her as well, including her grandmother, whose wisdom also elevates the album, and her father, who gave an adorable and tearful thumbs-up to “Broken Clocks.”

And now fans are begging to be a part of the Rowe family, and they’ve got a rewritten chorus for “The Weekend” to prove it.
