Sister Act 3: Whoopi Goldberg Hopes To Tap Jenifer Lewis

“I’d do everything I can to work with her,” ‘The View’ co-host shared.

Whoopi Goldberg hopes to add to the cast of the highly-anticipated Sister Act 3 and is welcoming Jenifer Lewis to join if she wishes!

On an episode of The View, Lewis joined the ladies of the morning talk show to promote her new book, Walking in My Joy: In These Streets, and was reminded by Goldberg that the pair still had a movie in the works.

“You know we’re still going to do that movie,” Goldberg told her original Sister Act co-star while joining them at the “Hot Topics” table. “And I’d do everything I can to work with her because she’s fun.”

The Oscar-winning actress said that she's "so ready" to film the movie, and also took a moment to share with the audience that she remembered teaching Goldberg how to sing on the set of the first film back in 1992.

"I told Whoopi, 'Look, you just get in this mirror with the two of us, and you just get a hairbrush, and pretend that we're 15 years old singing with Gladys Knight & the Pips,' and Whoopi did it," Lewis recalled. "She sang that little booty off."

In 2020, Disney announced that Sister Act 3 was in development but they planned to release the film on its Disney+ streaming service. Since the announcement of the movie, no additional further developments have been confirmed.
