Is Chris Brown Quitting Music?

Breezy says X album will "probably" be his last.

Chris Brown is ready to leave music, and his Twitter follwers were the first to know.

One day after a 45-minute jail stint, the "Don't Judge Me" singer tweeted out his angst, announcing this morning (Aug. 6) that after the X album (due Aug. 20), he could be leaving the mainstream.

The source of his displeasure? Bad press from the Rihanna assault. "Being famous is amazing when it's for ur music and talent. I'm tired of being famous for a mistake I made when i was 18. I'm cool & over it," he wrote.

"Don't worry mainstream America. After this X album, it'll probably be my last album."

Public opinion of Breezy never fully recovered to favorable after the 2009 incident. Now 24, Brown still draws backlash at shows and events. Most recently, a Canadian music festival lost a list of sponsors because he was on the bill.

That said, it's hard to imagine an artist of his talent not releasing any more albums. Plus, using an indecisive word like "probably" could mean that Brown knows he can't walk away that easily. is your #1 source for Black celebrity news, photos, exclusive videos and all the latest in the world of hip hop and R&B music.
