A little over a month has passed since Carey “Killa” Kelly, the brother of shamed R&B singer R. Kelly, released a lyrical exposé on the Pied Piper by way of a gritty track titled “I Confess.” In the record, Killa Kelly posed jaw-dropping allegations against his brother, accusing him of knowingly passing STDs to women and secretly sleeping with men.
In a new interview, the rapper is cracking open even more scandalous family secrets. In an interview with YouTuber Tasha K for her Unwine With Tasha K segment, Killa Kelly not only explained why he was releasing so much personal information on his brother, but why the information was so important for the public to know. Especially, Kelly revealed, after his wishes for one of Kelly’s previously undisclosed victims to come forth on her story of sexual abuse from the Chicago singer: their own cousin.
‘You give people chances to change before you put their business out there,’ he said…
“Before you actually say ‘enough it enough.’ Things happen in people’s lives to the point where you feel like it’s a wake-up call and now they get a chance to right their wrongs.”
Carey shared that after the loss of their mother, Joanne Kelly, the death of Kelly’s young lover and late R&B songstress Aaliyah, and his 2008 child pornography case acquittal, the Chocolate Factory went on a downward spiral from there. He recollected one incident where he came to physical blows with Kelly after confronting him about pursuing underage girls. “I wasn’t condoning [his behavior],” Carey said, though he did acknowledge that Kelly might have been seeking help for his pedophilic behavior.
‘Robert has a control problem,’ Carey continued
He believes that Kelly’s own experience with molestation, which the Pied Piper revealed in his exhaustive “I Admit” track, led him into such sexual deviancy. Carey revealed that also was molested, however, it fueled the exact opposite behavior of his brother’s, he alleged. “I became a protector of children,” he said. “I didn’t want kids to go through what I went through…especially my daughters.”
Carey also recalled an instance where he realized Kelly’s suspicious fondness of then-15-year-old Aaliyah…
He said their relationship, which was supposed to be that of a brother and sister, “made you scratch your head.”
“He [was] overprotective of her when he shouldn’t be.” Carey said his first suspicion rose when Kelly worked on Aaliyah’s Age Ain’t Nothin But A Number debut album. He paid keen attention to the lyrics and even how they interacted with each other. “I’m listening to the [lyrics] and I’m paying closer attention to how they’re vibing,” he elaborated. “They’d be right next to each other, hugged up and different things of that nature. That didn’t seem right with him being the age that he was, and her being the age that she was.” Carey said that Kelly denied anything more than a friendship with her though, despite later marrying the then-teenaged Aaliyah in 1994.
‘Anytime a person lusts after a minor something is wrong with them,’ Carey said
Deeming Kelly “demonic,” he alleged that his brother’s entourage also aided him in his sick recruitment of young girls to date. It was then when he revealed that Kelly even went so far as to sexually assault one of their cousins. According to him, the unnamed girl was 14 at the time, and the family became aware of the abuse upon realizing how much alone time he was spending with her. This same cousin gave birth to a child later on.
Tasha K asked whether or not they knew Kelly fathered her child, but he simply couldn’t say. “I can’t say that,” he responded. “There hasn’t been any DNA or anything done.” He’s also not sure if Kelly was still molesting her around the time she got pregnant, which was three years later when she turned 17. But, there was a lot of turmoil between the family due to those allegations, Carey admitted. The young girl’s brothers confirmed that there was something fishy going on as well, especially when Kelly would invite them over to clean his home and take her in a room alone for extended periods of time.
He did point out that the girl never admitted to the alleged sexual abuse herself, though
However, “he would like for her to tell her story.” While the allegations are repulsive, Carey believes that Kelly has been able to get away with so much for so long because of his superior status as an R&B icon. “A lot of people didn’t believe it because of who he is and that’s how he’s been able to sustain in this business as an artist and as human being [without] not being locked away,” Carey said. He understands for most, it’s “almost hard to believe that this icon, this superstar, would do things of that nature.”
Before the death of their mother, he added that he wasn’t sure if she knew about the alleged abuse. But if she did, things wouldn’t have gone down like they did because she would have “tore him a new a**hole.”
