Lamar Odom May Face Felony Drug Charges

D.A. wants the struggling athlete to pay for his overdose.

Lamar Odom apparently hasn't suffered enough following his nearly-fatal drug overdose, so prosecutors are seeking to slap the fallen athlete with felony drug charges for allegedly using cocaine in a Nevada brothel.
Law enforcement officials reportedly traveled to Sunrise Hospital in Las Vegas to take a sample of his blood to use for a toxicology test just hours after he was admitted on October 13. On 911 tapes released from the incident, a man can be heard saying Odom had used cocaine.
"The Nye County Sheriff's Office has now asked the Nye County District Attorney's Office to review a request for prosecution against Lamar Odom for Use of, or Under the Influence of, a Controlled Substance," Nye County District Attorney Angela A. Bello tells People. "The D.A.'s office will take the time needed to appropriately review that request, along with all evidence that might support that request, in order to reach a just conclusion regarding whether to advance charges. " No word on what the punishment would be, but felony drug charges usually results in jail time.
Though Odom's physical health has been on a very slow rebound since he first emerged from a coma last month, TMZ reported this past weekend that the NBA star is having a hard time with communication and mobility and can't even recognize some of his close friends and family.

Sources say that Lamar has made very little progress in the last few weeks and is only able to utter a few words here and there. They also say that he often seems "empty."
