Porsha Williams says aht aht, not so fast on that rumored engagement chatter. 

“The Real Housewives of Atlanta” star’s girlfriend, Patrice “Sway” McKinney, posted to her Instagram Stories this week to deny an image making the rounds that appeared to show the pair engaged, and Williams reposted the message to her own account. 

McKinney wrote plainly, “I am not engaged,” and added, “Like really, does that pic look like me?” and called the photo “clearly A.I.,” urging followers, “Don’t believe everything you see people.” 

The digitally altered image, which showed McKinney with what looked like a large diamond ring, quickly circulated on social platforms and gossip sites, prompting McKinney to criticize those spreading the falsehoods. Williams’ repost doubled down that the couple wanted to squash misinformation rather than fan the flames. "It's crazy that these low-budget blogs with low-life individuals running them will just make up a completely fake story and people will believe," McKinney added.

Williams, 44, first confirmed her relationship with McKinney publicly in November when she shared a loved-up birthday tribute on Instagram. The relationship marked Williams’ first openly public romance with a woman following her split from Simon Guobadia. Williams finalized her divorce in June and has said she “didn’t want to hide any parts of me,” explaining that she wants to “live in my truth.” Reflecting on her new partnership, she added, “So I’m very blessed.”

For now, the engagement rumors are that…rumors. Between AI’s growing ability to fabricate convincing images and the speed of online gossip, Williams and McKinney’s swift public response serves as a reminder to treat viral snaps with skepticism until confirmed by the people involved.
