Singer and songwriter Tems is one the quickest rising star in r&b and rightfully deserved. From Grammy-worthy ballads to impeccable fashion, there are many reasons to love the Nigerian musician. In honor of her “Outstanding International Song” for her cover of “No Woman No Cry” at the 54th Annual NAACP Image Awards, we created a short list with five reasons why we can’t get enough of Tems.

    Tem’s single “Higher” was enough to catch the attention of rapper Future, who not only gave her high praises, but the emcee featured her vocal on his smash hit “Wait for U,” featuring frequent collaborator and Canadian rap star Drake.

  • She’s made musical history

    The trio won the Grammy Award for “Best Melodic Rap Performance,” making the singer-songwriter the first female Nigerian artiste to win a Grammy Award.

    In  October 2022, she co-wrote Rihanna's song "Lift Me Up" for the Black Panther: Wakanda Forever soundtrack. The effort earned her a “Best Original Song — Motion Picture” nomination at the 2023 Golden Globe Awards.
