On Wednesday, Miami Heat star Dwyane Wade made a surprise visit to Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Fla., to meet with students who survived the mass shooting that occurred last month.
“I just wanted to come and say I’m inspired by all of you. I’m proud to say I’m from this state because of you guys,” Wade told a group of students who surrounded him.
The visit from the NBA star occurred just hours after Education Secretary Betsy DeVos paid the students a visit.
Wade posed for pictures with students and joined them in the cafeteria
Wade, who has supported the survivors of the school shooting, was applauded for being a positive figure for the students
