Rihanna broke the internet with her surprise pregnancy announcement on Monday (Jan. 31). In case you missed it, people from around the world openly expressed their excitement on social media as they congratulated the “Love On The Brain” singer and her rapper boyfriend A$AP Rocky on expecting their first child together.

Equally excited about the new addition was Rihanna’s father Ronald Fenty who spoke to Page Six from his home in Barbados. “I’m ecstatic,” the star’s dad happily shared, before adding, “I’m so happy that I jumped for joy. I’m still so excited.”

Fenty shared with the outlet that he learned that he was going to be a grandpa on Sunday night with a call from his daughter. “I just got the news from her last night, and she sent me some photos,” he revealed. “I’m just over the moon. She’s beautiful inside and out.”

According to Mr. Fenty, it is no secret that Rih wanted to be a mom, and he’s convinced she'll be a great one. “Rihanna always said that she wanted children, she loves kids. She always takes care of her cousins’ kids,” he explained. “She’s going to be a good mom.”

Fenty reportedly met Rocky after his daughter brought him home to the Caribbean island in December 2020. The rapper got dad’s seal of approval with Fenty calling him “a very cool guy.”

“I like him,” he concluded.
