Bajan bad gal Rihanna is the queen of savagery. Aside from overtly admitting it, we dubbed her with this moniker for years prior, due to her "IDGAF" nature. After the mockery many mistook the 2016 election for, celebs are using their platforms to encourage their fans of legal age to vote. It’s crucial since all of the seats in the Senate and House of Representatives are up for grabs.
Despite not being a U.S. citizen, the Anti songstress was praised by President Barack Obama for her philanthropic endeavors and she publicly supported Andrew Gillum, who’s running for governor of Florida in this year’s midterm elections. However, one internet troll didn’t feel her stance was valid.
In a post about which states allow same-day registration, the Caribbean songbird stated, “If you’re tired of complaining about the state of the country and government, get up and do something about it!!!!”
"#VOTE ... simple!!! You have no excuse and If you live in any of these states it’s not too late to register today!! C’mon man, LETS GO!!!!!," she continued. The troll curtly replied, “are you even a US citizen? Honest curiousity.” Riri promptly dragged him into a fiery abyss with the best response. “Nah. I’m an immigrant tryna get yo country together. Did u vote?,” she said. This deserves a standing ovation, to be honest. The tiresome “drag” isn’t the first time someone attempted to blast RiRi’s immigration status, but as we know, her quick wit holds back for no one.
After putting the hater in his place, she got back to the issues at hand and showed her support for Stacey Abrams, who's running for governor of Georgia. When one fan mentioned that she felt her vote doesn't "really matter," Rihanna reminded her why it is. "They want you to think that, sis. If you don't go, they'll take your vote and allocate it where they want to!"
Most voting booths close at 9 p.m., but be sure to verify with a quick Google search. All hail our favorite bad gal's responses below.
