For Listeners Only:
With rumblings of a new project from Kendrick Lamar, the second L.A.-based artist from his and Dave Free’s pgLang multi-disciplinary company is being presented for the world to hear and enjoy. Tanna Leone, who released not one, but two debut tracks, shares an official music video for “With The Villains.” Eager to “disrupt the status quo, push people to focus on their growth as humans,” Tanna joins Baby Keem on his “The Melodic Blue” tour, and with this promising offer that gives listeners a glimpse into his hypnotic flow.
Two certified Grammy Award-winning artists unite to present 2022’s biggest Hot Girl anthem, as Megan Thee Stallion and Dua Lipa release “Sweetest Pie” for our musical tastebuds. A power collab marking the first single from the former’s forthcoming album, “Sweetest Pie” is a stirring soundscape featuring two of the music world’s most powerful women, all happening during Women’s History Month. A super delicious, sexy track that celebrates women being “thee prize,” the single and music video is an open invitation for fans to witness the continued reign of H-Town’s global hip hop superstar.
As one of BET.com’s Rising Artists to Watch in 2022, Marzz, the fiery R&B starlet signed to Keep Cool, continues to prove that they are an unrelenting force with “KMS.” The moody new single combines her old-school church choir roots with a unique vocal presentation that is more than welcomed in this COLORSXSTUDIOS performance. As she sings about a love that’s “killing her slowly,” Marzz stripped-down and intimate vocals not only make them the focal point but hypes up the countdown for their debut solo headlining tour. For now, catch them as the official opener for H.E.R., and be sure to play “KMS” on repeat throughout this weekend and beyond.
Watch The Streams:
Zoe Saldaña is an actor who doesn’t mind putting in the work. Already a part of a few big blockbuster franchises like Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy, her appearance in Adam McKay’s The Adam Project rounds out a trio of talented stars: Ryan Reynolds, Jennifer Garner, and her fellow superhero-slash-actor, Mark Ruffalo. In the film, a time-traveling fighter pilot, played by Reynolds, has to team up with the 12-year-old version of himself to save the future. Saldaña plays a pivotal role that is important to the plot. But we’ll save the spoilers and encourage you all to watch this Netflix exclusive that’s a nostalgia-inducing film that is now available for streaming.
Upload, a criminally slept-on sci-fi comedy from Greg Daniels (The Office, Parks and Recreation), returns for its second season on Amazon Prime. Starring Andy Allo as Nora, an afterlife customer service representative, she now must help the series’ protagonist Nathan (Robbie Amell) investigate the cause of his death and attempt to help him return to the world of the living. Zainab Johnson (Aleesha) aids in the adventure, which juggles a lot, but if you’re into a comedic whodunit, then Upload is right for you.
We’ve been enjoying this press run for Samuel L. Jackson as he hasn’t held back from some hard-hitting and comedic topics. Thankfully, the impetus behind these confessions comes as part of the Apple+ TV miniseries, The Last Days of Ptolemy Grey, which is based on the novel of the same name. Jackson as Grey plays an aging man struggling with dementia, who briefly remembers a period of his past that has to do with the mysterious death of his nephew. This is not a departure from fodder we’ve seen Jackson do, but it is a very different and endearing project featuring his name on the marquee. With The Last Days of Ptolemy Grey out now, be sure to make time this weekend to watch this captivating drama.
