Normani and DK Metcalf Announce Engagement as NFL Star Joins Steelers

The couple are taking the next step as Metcalf makes a major career move.

Normani and DK Metcalf are officially in their forever era.

The “Wild Side” songstress and newly traded Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver are engaged, and the way he popped the question was straight out of a rom-com.

During a press conference on Thursday following his trade from the Seattle Seahawks, the 27-year-old athlete couldn’t help but share his excitement when reporters asked about the big moment. Instead of a simple confirmation, he turned to Normani, who was in the audience, and proudly told her, “Hold that ring up, baby!”

The NFL star shared that he popped the question in Houston, surrounded by both of their families. “It was my sister's spring break, and I just thought about getting the whole family together for a big kumbaya and joining our families with the ring,” he explained.

Metcalf later told reporters that he had planned to propose for a while, but the former Fifth Harmony member’s busy schedule meant he had to get creative. Instead of rushing, he took a more thoughtful approach—sending her flowers, each with a message, until “the last letter on the flower was ‘Will you marry me?’ And she said yes,” he recalled with a smile.

Back in 2020, Ciara and Russell Wilson played matchmaker, introducing the two to each other. Metcalf shared that the power couple has already sent their congratulations on the engagement.

The duo has largely kept their romance out of the spotlight since first sparking dating rumors in June 2022 after being spotted together at Giorgio Baldi in Santa Monica, California. They officially went public in 2023, though neither frequently posts about their relationship on social media.
