Kelly Rowland Explains Why She Stood Her Ground at Cannes

The 43-year-old singer said, “The woman knows what happened. I know what happened. I have a boundary, and I stand by those boundaries, and that is it.”

Kelly Rowland had a heated exchange with a red carpet security guard at the Marcello Mio premiere, which sparked a viral frenzy. The Destiny’s Child star has since opened up about the incident. During an interview with the Associated Press at the amfAR Cannes Gala, she shed light on the confrontation that set tongues wagging.

Rowland said, "The woman knows what happened. I know what happened. I have a boundary, and I stand by those boundaries, and that is it."

For some strange reason, Rowland has been placed under a microscope, each discovery seemingly making her out to be angry. From the headlines that claimed Rowland walked off a talk show set because of a small dressing room to the latest about her sternly speaking to a security guard on a red carpet in Cannes, Rowland is making it clear that she doesn’t allow disrespect.

She added, "There were other women that attended that carpet who did not quite look like me, and they didn’t get scolded or pushed off or told to get off. I stood my ground, and she felt like she had to stand hers, but I stood my ground."

Kelly can do no wrong. What she’s doing here is not backing down from defending herself when her boundaries were crossed.
