This Week in Good Black News: Flau’jae, Cardi B and Lil Kim, Angel Reese, and Beyoncé Keep the Joy Going

From Baton Rouge honoring Flau’jae to Beyoncé’s Cécred celebration and Angel Reese’s Victoria’s Secret debut, the culture was busy blessing us.

This week in good Black news came with everything from city honors to fashion wins to a baby debut that had the timeline in a chokehold.

First up, April 4 is now officially Flau’jae “Big 4” Johnson Day in Baton Rouge, where the LSU star and recording artist was also presented with the key to the city in recognition of her community work, leadership, and impact on and off the court. The honor reflects four years of givebacks and service tied to the Baton Rouge community.

Cardi B and Lil Kim kept the internet smiling by showing love for one another after their Madison Square Garden moment. The two rap queens spent the weekend publicly pouring into each other after Kim joined Cardi onstage, with the moment turning into a full-on celebration of sisterhood in hip-hop.

Angel Reese also had a big week, stepping into her first global Victoria’s Secret campaign and proving yet again that her influence stretches far beyond the basketball court. The campaign stars Reese in the brand’s “Season of Strapless” rollout and marks another major fashion moment for the WNBA standout.

Over in the city of angels, Beyoncé celebrated Cécred’s new Styling Collection with an all-white family affair alongside Blue Ivy and Tina Knowles. The event featured a Bronner Brothers-inspired hair show, Monaleo’s viral “pimpcess X queen bey” post, and a styling lineup built for everything from sleek looks to blowouts.

And because the culture always finds a way to give us one more thing to talk about, Rocki Irish Mayers just made her public debut in Paris. Rihanna and A$AP Rocky’s daughter stepped out in vintage Dior and instantly set a new standard for baby fashion.

That is the kind of week we like to see: Black women winning, Black families shining, and Black joy showing out!
