Campaign Launched to Put Rosa Parks, Sojourner Truth on $20 Bill

To celebrate the 100th anniversary of women gaining voting rights, Women on 20s wants new faces on U.S. currency.

With the 100th anniversary of the 19th Amendment approaching, a non-profit feminist group by the name of Women on 20s wants to literally change the face of the $20 bill.
The group has listed Sojourner Truth, Susan B. Anthony, Shirley Chisholm, Rosa Parks, Eleanor Roosevelt and others as more deserving of being on the $20 bill than the current face of President Andrew Jackson due to the fact that he was a slave owner among other things that worked against the advancement of minorities.

In part, Women on 20s said this about their campaign for change, "Let’s make the names of female 'disrupters' — the ones who led the way and dared to think differently — as well-known as their male counterparts. In the process, maybe it will get a little easier to see the way to full political, social and economic equality for women."
Public voting on which woman should replace President Jackson on the $20 bill is taking place now and will close at the end of March.
