Hilarious Arkansas Teacher Makes Cardi B Hall Passes

Can you imagine when Kulture goes to school?

Arkansas teacher Rebecca Newby has been dubbed teacher of the year.

Ms. Newby teaches pre-AP English and ninth grade creative writing. And since she is responsible for providing the majority of her supplies, the millennial teacher decided to make hall passes out of Cardi B’s “My Momma Said” meme. And her students loved it!

The Cardi B hall passes say, “Ms. Newby said I can go to the bathroom,” and “Ms. Newby said I can go to the library.” Her fellow teachers even wanted to get in on it and asked her to make their passes.

The 23-year-old teacher became a viral sensation in a matter of 24 hours once it was posted to social media. She told BuzzFeed News, “My students love Cardi B, and so do I, by the way.”

The laminated passes are made out of cardboard and hot glue, and they only took a few minutes to make.

She added, "The hall passes are just a small piece to creating the culture of my classroom... I became a teacher because I realized how important it is to have 'good' teachers."

Cheers to Ms. Newby and to the teachers finding ways to relate to their students.
