Iggy Azalea Explains How Beef With Azealia Banks Started

Iggy Azalea maintains that she has no issue with Azealia Banks.

Iggy Azalea says that although her beef with fellow femcee Azealia Banks may be heavily one-sided, it does have deep roots. In an interview with Brooklyn Martino, Azalea explained how their Twitter beef began late last year.
"It actually started at CMJ Festival back in September when she went on Twitter and said, 'I'm next level, I had a song about being a Barbie before Nicki Minaj had a song about being a Barbie, here's the link to my song. And f--k Iggy Azalea, I had a song called 'P---y' before she ever did. Here's a link to my song. It's better."
Iggy says that Banks continued to throw shots at her via Twitter, the comments on Iggy's placement on the XXL Freshman cover just being the most widely publicized.
"And then I wrote on Twitter, 'the best thing you can be is humble, because it's not about who did it first; it's about who did it better.' And then she wrote back to me and said, 'Beef!' I was like, not really girl. Not really. It's not that deep. So then after that, she wrote on Twitter, 'F--k white girls. They are privileged and shouldn't be allowed to rap, because rap is black culture' and all this other crap. Then, it was like, 'What does ignorant art even mean anyway? Music is not art. Music is culture. That doesn't even make any sense.' Then, it was quiet until I got on the cover of XXL and it became me being racist."
Banks is adamant about her distaste for Iggy Azalea. After T.I. called Banks out in a radio interview with Atlanta's DJ Drama, she took to Twitter to fire back with some tough words. "Come on T.I.... N----s is not scared of u and whatever s--t u got to say on some radio show. You corny for that one."
Azalea maintains that she doesn't know Banks personally and therefore doesn't have a problem with her despite the ongoing drama.
