Anthony Anderson’s Team Responds to Backlash Over Viral Lindsay Lohan Interview Clip
Anthony Anderson has been under fire for his past remarks during a recently resurfaced interview clip with Lindsay Lohan.
A Twitter user posted an interview where Anderson was a guest host filling in on “The Sharon Osbourne Show,” conducting an interview with Lohan, questioning her living arrangement with Raven Symoné, inquiring if a gentleman would also be present in their new place.
Lohan shut Anderson down, sharing that nobody but her and Raven will be living in the apartment they had at the time. Anderson quickly followed-up, sharing that Lohan was “single,” prompting this response from the now-veteran actress.
“I’m illegal for people that are old,” she exclaimed.
The “black-ish” star then responded, which brought a few side-eyes from fans on social media, “Well, you know some men like them young,” he said.
“We ain’t going to mention no names but, you know, I’m one of them,” he continued laughing off his response.
Twitter fans were not pleased with his comments, causing backlash online.
The “Hustle & Flow” star’s team responded to the backlash, clarifying that Anderson’s remarks were intended to be humorous.
"This interview was clearly intended as comedy. He regrets if the humor was in poor taste and maintains the utmost respect for Lindsay," a spokesperson told Entertainment Weekly via email on behalf of Anderson, reports EW.
"Any implication to the contrary is both inaccurate and potentially defamatory."
