Drake Believed To Have Purchased 2Pac’s Death Row Chain
Drake continues to shake the table and show love for 2Pac, and his latest Instagram post put the spotlight on another piece of rap history. On Sunday, August 24, the Toronto rapper shared a photo of what appeared to be 2Pac’s 1996 Death Row Records chain.
The chain features the iconic Death Row Records logo covered in diamonds, and the back of the pendant carries an inscription that reads, “All Eyez on YOU 1996.” Drake paired the post with the All Eyez On Me cover art, where Pac is seen rocking the very same chain during the height of his career.
The post quickly drew mixed reactions.. Moneybagg Yo, Gashi, and Gillie Da Kid all gave their stamp of approval. Fans also filled the comments section with their thoughts, some stunned that the piece even resurfaced. One Instagram user wrote, “Bruh. The world has been wondering where Pac’s original Death Row Records chain has been at since 1996. Mind blowing.” Another added, “You can buy the shoes, but you’ll never be able to fill them.” A third fan noted Drake’s growing collection of Pac memorabilia, commenting, “You got the ring and the chain, sheesh.”
This isn’t the first time Drake has been linked to one of 2Pac’s prized possessions. In 2023, he purchased the rapper’s gold, ruby, and diamond crown ring at a Sotheby’s auction. The piece sold for $1.1 million and was worn by 2Pac during his final public appearance at the 1996 MTV Video Music Awards.
With both the crown ring and what appears to be the Death Row Records chain now in his possession, Drake has built a collection tied to one of hip hop’s most influential figures. Each piece serves as a reminder of 2Pac’s lasting impact and the way his legacy continues to live on through music, culture, and now, history-making artifacts.
