Chicago Rapper Valee Dyed His Dog Red And The Internet Is At War
Chicago rapper Valee is in hot water on social media over a rather strange video he shared of his dog on Monday (May 27).
In the 27-second clip, the Chihuahua puppy is seen prancing around outside on a sunny day. As tiny as the Chiuahua is, there was one peculiar detail about the pup that fans couldn't miss: it’s coat had been dyed a bright cherry red.
Since he published the video, users have piled on the criticism with some fans even going as far as tagging the official accounts for the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) and People for Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) in the comment thread under his May 27 tweet.
PETA published a blog post in 2018 condemning dyeing animals, writing "unnatural beauty or cosmetic procedures that don’t explicitly benefit an animal’s health and well-being should never be performed — there’s.... no need, not to mention the discomfort or even pain involved." The post didn't specify whether all-natural dyes were okay however, nor did they cite any sources backed by research for most of the claims stated in the post.

On the other hands, a few users jumped in on the "Womp Womp" artist's defense, pointing out that dog trainers have been dying dog's hair for years and that there are ways to dye pets without causing them any harm.
