Cam Newton Says Colin Kaepernick Is 'Absolutely' Better Than Some Starting QBs And Calls It 'Unfair' That He's Jobless

"There's no question about it."

About a week after Aaron Rodgers said that Colin Kaepernick "should be on a roster right now," another superstar NFL quarterback is saying much of the same.

While addressing the media today, Cam Newton said that he really thinks that it's "unfair" that Kaepernick remains jobless and that the free-agent quarterback is "absolutely" better than some starting QBs in the league.

"In my opinion, do I think Kaepernick is better than some of these starting quarterbacks in this league? Absolutely," Newton told reporters, while preparing for his Carolina Panthers to face the San Francisco 49ers in their first game of the 2017 season Sunday. "Should he be on a roster in my opinion? Absolutely. There's no question about it. Is he good enough to be on a roster? Is he good enough to be a starting quarterback? Absolutely."

Newton's comments come about two weeks removed from Buffalo Bills running back LeSean McCoy telling reporters that Kaepernick's play is not worth the "distraction" — something he got severely dragged for.

Last year, Newton found himself in the crosshairs of the public's furor when he controversially commented in the September 2016 issue of GQ about America being "beyond" race

Newton did salute Kaepernick's "stand for injustice" weeks later, while Kaep was in the midst of a 2016 season-long protest during the national anthem as a stance against racism and the police brutality of unarmed Black men. However, people still questioned where the Panthers QB stands on such issues.

That being said, do you view Newton's quarterback co-sign of Kaepernick as a signal that the former NFL MVP finally gets it, or do you think he was strictly talking football?
