Miguel Opens Up About Why Dating Isn’t On His Radar After His Divorce

The ‘Coffee’ artist told hosts he prefers natural connections but isn’t actively looking, choosing instead to prioritize his son, his family, and his own evolution.

Miguel is choosing singlehood these days as he has no desire to date.

The singer appeared on the “Get Got” Podcast and confirms he’s no longer married and how he isn’t a fan of the “approach” when it comes to dating.

Instead of chasing anything new, he’s choosing stillness. The “Coffee” singer explained that he’s open to meeting people naturally.

“I'm happy to introduce myself or be introduced if that's how it all happens,” he said, but made it clear that dating isn’t a priority.

As he put it, he’s not in a space where he feels the need to make that a focus.

“I'm really actually focused on getting, being, becoming the best version of me for myself and for my son, for my family.”

That honesty has also reshaped his relationships with women he once tried to date. The “Vixen” artist shared that he’s now “friends” with some of them because they already knew getting involved with him romantically would’ve been “chaos.”

The "CAOS" singer recently opened up about the timing between his divorce from Nazanin Mandi and having his newborn child with former Vogue China editor-in-chief, Margaret Zhang

During his sit-down with The Breakfast Club, the “Adorn” singer addressed the online speculation head-on, making it clear that the timelines being tossed around don’t match reality, according to a report from BET.com.

He added that the frustrating part has been watching people “do the wrong math,” creating timelines that don’t reflect the truth.

What he wanted to make unmistakably clear was that his new relationship didn’t begin until after his split from Mandi.

“The one thing I did not do is start a relationship while I was married and then have a baby,” he said, pushing back on any narrative suggesting overlap. He doubled down on that point, explaining that the marriage was over before anything new entered the picture.

“I got divorced,” he said, “and I’m going to say this straight up — everybody out there talking like I was still in a marriage and then I had a baby or was having an affair all this time, that’s not true.”
