'The Oval': Simone Makes a Deadly Move as Eli and Victoria Fight for Their Lives
Are Eli and Victoria okay? It’s still unclear, but this week’s episode of The Oval reminds us that Hunter had them hung last week. We left off with them dangling and Harlem Shaking—it didn’t look good. This week, Donald and Kyle rush in to check on them, and it seems like it’s too late. Hunter and his goons are nowhere to be found, but a swarm of agents arrive to get their unconscious—or possibly dead—bodies down.
Max is confused because he was stationed at the office door and didn’t see anyone come in. Little does he know, they used the secret tunnels. Meanwhile, the doctor arrives and gets to work.
Elsewhere, Priscilla ends up in the kitchen with Richard during the lockdown. Richard spirals, ranting about how Nancy ruined his life and declaring that he needs to kill her. And technically… she did. No need to list all the reasons, but she did. Things get worse when he gets a call from the bank informing him that Nancy has closed all his accounts—retirement, savings, IRA, checking—everything. Richard officially declares Nancy his enemy and storms out, completely unhinged. At this point, there’s nothing anyone can do to reel him back in.
Meanwhile, Allen is tasked with keeping Simone and Lily in his office but does a terrible job. Simone is especially on edge because no one will give her an update on Eli’s condition. Eventually, Lily and Simone team up and jump Allen to escape. Honestly, Allen should have quit a long time ago—the moment he found out his girl was sleeping with the president—but here we are.
In a surprising turn, there may be hope for Victoria and Eli after all, as we see them being wheeled out of the Oval Office on gurneys, oxygen masks strapped on. Hunter and his crew are still MIA, but this sends Donald, Sam, Kyle, Max, and Bobby into action—they need to figure out how Hunter managed to sneak into the room undetected. Sam recalls overhearing something about secret passageways and vows to investigate.
Lily and Simone eventually track down Donald and demand answers. Simone is taken to the infirmary, where she finds Eli in the same room. Doctors are running tests to assess the damage, but for now, things remain uncertain. For safety and optics, Simone must stay by her husband's side.
Fast forward—Simone learns that Eli has strong brain activity, and Victoria seems to be doing okay as well. Let’s be real: you either have to be anointed or pure evil to survive being hung, and we know which category these two fall into.
The episode wraps with the nurse leaving Simone alone in the infirmary. That’s when Simone notices something— the nurse left behind the drug used to keep them intubated. What kind of nurse would—never mind. Simone wastes no time, grabbing the drug and injecting an extra dose into Victoria’s tube, hoping to end her once and for all.
Her final words? “Checkmate, b—ch!”
But we’ll see about that next week.
