BET Awards 2022: Bet You Didn’t Know Muni Long Had Hands in These Major Hits
It may seem like singer and songwriter Muni Long only recently appeared on the music scene, but fans have been jamming to her lyrics for years. Born Priscilla Renea, the up-and-coming musician, has garnered over 120 writing credits during her nearly 15-year-long career collaborating with various artists from the Pussycat Dolls to Chris Brown. Since then, she’s released two studio albums, four EPS, and over two dozen singles. Muni ultimately made her breakthrough with her 2022 viral hit “Hrs and Hrs,” from the songstress’ EP Public Displays of Affection.
Muni is set to face off against several talented acts, including Grammy Award-winning rapper Baby Keem, Benny The Butcher, Latto, Tems, and Yung Bleu, for “Best New Artist.” Culture’s biggest night is set to air live on Sunday, June 26th at 8 pm ET at the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles and will be hosted by award-winning actor, writer, and director Taraji P. K. Michelle — “V.S.O.P.”
Muni co-wrote this 2013 uptempo record alongside several talented acts in the business, including Warren “Oak” Felder, Andrew “Pop” Wansel, Lisa Peters, Williams Jeffrey, Walter Boyd, and Elijah Powell. It samples “Very Special” by Debra Laws and “That’s How Long” by the Chi-Lites. It garnered significant success and reached number 27 on Billboard Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs.
Fifth Harmony “Worth It”
From the former group Fifth Harmony’s 2015 debut studio album Reflection, this women’s empowerment dance-pop track was written and produced by Muni. It featured her signature Balkan and Middle Eastern-inspired sound.
Chris Brown — “Don’t Wake Me Up”
Muni and Chris joined the likes of Alessandro Benassi, Alain Whyte, Brain Kennedy, and a slew of others for this dance-pop single from the R&B singer’s fifth studio album, Fortune. The song peaked at number ten on the Billboard Hot 100. The music video was shot by BET Awards 2021 “Director of the Year” nominee and “Video of Year” award winner Colin Tilley.”

Mary J. Blige — “Don’t Mind”
Queen of Hip Hop and R&B Mary J. Blige co-wrote this 2012 single off her tenth studio album, My Life II… The Journey Continues (Act1) with Muni and Jerry Duplessis. It peaked at number 35 on Billboard’s Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart.
Fantasia — “When I Met You”
Muni co-wrote this 2017 mid-tempo with Ron Feemster “When I Met You,” the third and last single off Fantasia’s fifth studio album, The Definition Of…. The track peaked at number 18 on Billboard Adult R&B Airplay.
