Tyler Perry’s 'Divorced Sistas' Delivers Drama, Secrets, and a Scandalous Confession in Episode One
Tyler Perry’s Divorced Sistas has arrived, and episode one kicks things off with a solid start, establishing the core friend group. We begin with Tiffany (Briana Price), who’s in the middle of a divorce, and Geneva (Khadeen Indira), who’s still married. The two are headed to pick up Geneva’s daughter, Anika. Auntie Tiffany will be watching Anika for a bit so Geneva and her husband, William, can enjoy a much-needed getaway.
Next up is Rasheda (LeToya Luckett), a delusional first lady whose marriage is clearly falling apart. She and her husband, Pastor Jeff (DeVon Franklin), are not in a good place—and it becomes painfully obvious during a meeting with church clergy where he’s condescending as hell. Bridgette (Jennifer Sears), another one of the girlfriends (who we don’t learn much about just yet), catches Rasheda crying in her office and tries to console her. But Rasheda’s not here for the fake comfort—she sees right through it.
And then there’s Naomi. She’s divorced and sitting pretty after her settlement, but still salty about her ex—mainly because his new boo is, wait for it… a white woman. We’re only one episode in, but it’s already clear Naomi is a loose cannon. Some Waiting to Exhale-level shenanigans are definitely brewing.
The tension builds when Geneva notices her daughter playing with dolls—and picks up on clues that her husband might be cheating. Eventually, she pieces together that the other woman might be one of the moms at Anika’s school. There’s no concrete proof yet, but Geneva’s a high-powered lawyer and an even better sleuth. So yeah, this storyline’s just heating up.
The episode wraps with a young woman from Rasheda’s church seeking counseling. But let’s cut to the chase: she asks Rasheda for forgiveness—because she’s been sleeping with Pastor Jeff. And with that bombshell, we’ll see you next episode.
