How Angel Reese Is Reclaiming “Mebounds” with a Purpose-Driven Clothing Line

The WNBA standout trademarked a fan-coined phrase mocking her missed rebounds and is using merch sales to fight cyberbullying through her foundation.

Angel Reese is turning a negative into a positive with her new merch line.

After facing public scrutiny from fans, who dubbed her missing shots and rebounds “Mebounds,” the rising WNBA player decided to trademark the slogan and created a clothing line.

“MEBOUNDS, REESEBOUNDS, REBOUNDS… MERCH AVAILABLE NOW!,” said the 23-year-old in her tweet while promoting her latest business endeavor.

She confirmed that a portion of the proceeds will be “going to the Angel C. Reese foundation to help fight against cyberbullying” before ending her caption with the hashtag “hatingpaystoo.”

Reese founded the foundation in July 2023.

The Angel C. Reese foundation is “dedicated to fostering equity for girls and underrepresented groups through innovative and impactful initiatives,” according to its mission statement.

“Our main objective is to ensure equal opportunities for all girls in sports, education, financial literacy, and other areas where girls have historically been overlooked. We aim to develop practical solutions to overcome these challenges and provide comprehensive resources that empower a new generation of girls to excel in sports and successfully transition to the real world.”
