Niecy Nash is set on helping single women find true love. The Soul Man actress's book, It's Hard to Fight Naked, was published last month and she recently sat down with CocoaFab to chat about her relationship stories and how it could help others "get the relationship you deserve."
"I feel like love is the thing we were created for, yet it's the place we struggle the most. And I feel like if any of my experience, my stories, my failures, my successes could help the next woman in her journey. I feel like I owe that to women, you know, and men too, because I wanted the people that I love to have rich, full relationships and as I started helping them, I decided to cast a wider net," Niecy said.
Her relationship book, published by Gallery Books, is a no-nonsense wake-up call for women who prefer to cry on about how there are no good men left rather than focus on their own self-improvement and priorities. In fact, Nash subscribes to the belief that you attract what you yourself put out there.
"Well, there are multiple nuggets or items that you'd call takeaways in the book. It just depends on where you are in the love journey what is going to resonate with you. If you're right at the beginning, I would tell you to be what you want to see, because inevitably you are going to attract what you are. And so if a whole bunch of crazy people keep showing up, then get up and look in the mirror and say, 'Good morning, crazy!' Because something ain't right. And then if you're a little further down the road and you're prepared to go out and date, I would encourage you to date for your priority, not for your preference. And then if you're a little further down the road, I would probably tell you some things that you can do to keep your man out of the streets and in your sheets!"
