Update: 21 Injured in San Bernardino Massacre, Thousands of Rounds of Ammunition Found at Suspects' Home

A couple has been identified in the San Bernardino massacre. President Obama has called for stricter gun laws amid the shooting that killed 14 people.

UPDATE 12/4/2015 11:51 AM.:

Federal officials said that Tashfeen Malik pledged allegiance to Islamic State (IS) in a Facebook post from the same day as the mass shooting. It does not appear that IS requested that the married couple carry out the crime, which resulted in 14 deaths and 21 injuries on Wednesday. "At this point we believe they were more self-radicalized and inspired by the group than actually told to do the shooting," the New York Times quoted a U.S. government official as saying.

Authorities say 21 people were injured in the attack Wednesday at the Inland Regional Center in San Bernardino, California. The massacre carried out by a married couple took the lives of 14 people.
There were 1,600 rounds of ammunition in the get-away vehicle Syed Farook and Tashfeen Malik were driving after they opened fire at a San Bernardino Department of Health holiday party at the Inland Regional Center, the New York Times reports.

Even more ammunition was stocked away at the couple's home in Redlands, California, about 10 miles away from where the shooting took place. Authorities found 12 pipe bombs and more than 4,000 rounds of ammunition for the weapons.

On Wednesday, married couple Syed Farook, 28, and Tashfeen Malik, 27, opened fire during a holiday gathering for the San Bernardino County Department of Health in California. They killed 14 people and injured 17 more in the attack, according to the Los Angeles Times. The massacre is the latest in a string of shootings that has heightened the urgency for gun control law reform in America.
President Obama spoke out on the killings Tuesday during an interview on CBS.

"The one thing we do know is that we have a pattern now of mass shootings in this country that has no parallel anywhere else in the world," Obama said. "And there are some steps that we could take — not to eliminate every one of these mass shootings — but to improve the odds that they don't happen as frequently."
Around 11 a.m. PST, a call came into 911 reporting the shooting. Schools in the area were shut down as authorities flooded the area looking for the suspects, who fled in a black SUV. They were later tracked down and killed by police in a gun battle in the afternoon.
The FBI says the shooters were equipped with at least four weapons, including assault rifles and handguns. The couple had purchased two of them legally, authorities reported.
Farook had been an employee of the government agency for five years and was in attendance at the holiday party before opening fire on his colleagues after an apparent dispute. He was born in Illinois and he and his wife, Malik, had a 6-month-old daughter.
Authorities are currently not certain of the motive behind the shooting.
