Tina Lawson Claps Back At Tomi Lahren And All The Other Haters Who Can't Handle Beyoncé's Pro-Black Glory

Mama don’t play.

Beyoncé’s Black Panther Party inspired Super Bowl performance and critique of police brutality in her “Formation” video garnered a slew of backlash from people who weren’t here for Bey’s “Pro-Black agenda.” One person standing by the Lemonade singer’s side despite the controversy is her mother Tina Lawson.

Lawson took to Instagram beaming with pride as her daughter presented NFL star-turned-social activist Colin Kaepernick Sports Illustrated’s Muhammad Ali Legacy Award last night (Dec. 05).

Uploading an image of Bey handing Kaepernick his trophy, Lawson wrote, “Thank you Beyonce for being brave enough to say what many of us are thinking…. Translates to me as: when you protest injustice and racism & put a spotlight on it that means you are being “Un American” or disrespectful to our country! What does that say about this Country?”

Dishing on the Trump administration’s role in aiding in the division over issues like police brutality and Kaepernick’s kneeling protest, Lawson continued, “Our current administration would have you believe that the protest was protesting the flag and the nation anthem… Wrong!!! There is no mention of the purpose of his protest which was the killing of innocent unarmed black men and racism in this country. The constant smokeScreens and deflecting that’s done every day is laughable! That is the game that they play with us every day about everything.”

Lawson continued by calling out those who refuse to speak out against injustice in America. “If you are a person that is a good human being and devoid of racism but that when you hear or see injustices being done to someone else and you don’t stand up and say something about it, when you can conveniently look the other way, you are complicit in this behavior and are almost as guilty as the person perpetrating it.”

Preach, Ms Tina!
