Lil Wayne's Jail Date Delayed Again

It looks like Wayne will have at least five more days of freedom. After a mysterious fire at a Lower Manhattan courthouse postponed Weezy’s sentencing, Wayne’s legal reps are now claiming the Grammy Award-winning spitter might not see the big house until next week.

Stacy Richman spoke with XXLMag.com earlier today indicating that Monday (March 8) may be the new sentencing date for Weezy, but it’s not concrete yet. “That’s what the judge has directed but we don’t know if that’s going to be feasible because of the operational systems right now,” Richman explained. “The physical operation of the city, we don’t know if it’s going to be up or down. We don’t know about prisoner movement. We don’t know if they’ll be able to receive anybody. We don’t have that information yet. We assume by Monday things should return to normality but who knows… Potentially, it could be [longer].”

Wayne was originally scheduled to begin his sentence on February 9, but was delayed due to last minute and extensive dental work and granted a month’s extension to get the work finished.

Pleading guilty to a second degree gun possession charge last October, Wayne is scheduled to serve 8-10 months at Rikers Island in NYC.
