Mariah Carey Has Thoughts About Drake’s ‘Emotionless’ Song…

MC's Lambs have officially approved this message.

Drake dug deep into R&B’s basement and dusted off a few old school gems for side B of his dual-disc, fifth studio album, Scorpion, one of which included a sample of Mariah Carey’s 1991 “Emotions” single.

For Drizzy’s version, he put a slight spin on the title with “Emotionless” as Mimi’s pleasantly piercing soprano vocals open the track and backdrops his bars on the record. For the most part, Drake’s handpicked samples—including Michael Jackson, City Girls, N.W.A. and Static Major—received a thumbs up, with the exception of one person.

As for the Songbird Supreme herself, she’s got two words (or three emojis, rather) for the Champagne Papi’s borrowing of her 27-year-old classic: straight fire.

See Mimi’s reaction to Drake’s sample salute for her and how the rest of her fans felt about it below.
