Malia Obama Is A Writer On Donald Glover’s New Show

The Emmy winner is singing her praises.

Donald Glover is creating a new show for Amazon Studios and Malia Obama is one of the writers.

Glover told Variety, “I feel like she’s just somebody who’s gonna have really good things coming soon. Her writing style is great.”

Stephen Glover, Donald’s brother and collaborator, said about Obama, “Donald always says perspective is important, and people with different perspectives are important for a writers’ room. And for sure, [Malia] definitely has a unique perspective on everything. So we wanted to hear her stories and have her work with us. Listening to her stories and having her involved really gave us a lot of good ideas.”

The title of the show, which is part of an eight-figure deal Glover signed with Amazon Studios, is not public but Variety reports it’s about a “Beyonce-like figure.”

Malia Obama, 23, has been venturing in the entertainment industry for years. She interned for the HBO series Girls and was a production assistant on Halle Berry’s CBS series Extant.
