Amid soaring gas prices, former Chicago mayoral candidate and businessman Willie Wilson is holding a gas giveaway.

According to CBS News, after donating $200,000 of gas in Chicago, this gas giveaway on March 24 at 7 a.m. will be the second one Wilson has conducted.  Each car is expected to receive $50 in gas. Over 45 gas stations will participate until $1 million is used.

Wilson’s first gas giveaway on March 17, he said in a press release, “The need among the community is so great.”

Wilson continued, "The soaring price of gas has caused a hardship for too many of our citizens. The average price of regular gas has gone well over $4 a gallon for the first time in nearly 14 years and is now up nearly 50 percent from last year. The war in Ukraine, a ban on Russian oil, and high taxes are contributing to rising fuel prices.”
