Rihanna Says She and A$AP Rocky Don’t Argue Over This One Parenting Rule
While walking the carpet for the upcoming live-action “Smurfs” movie, Rihanna gave a rare update on her growing family. In an interview with “Entertainment Tonight,” she revealed that she and A$AP Rocky have one parenting agreement they don’t argue about—all of their children’s names will start with the letter R.
“That’s the one thing me and Rocky don’t fight over!” she said. “It’s always going to be an R name.”
The conversation started when ET tried to get her to confirm the sex of baby number three. Rihanna kept things playful, refusing to reveal anything. “Let’s see if it’s a Smurfette. It could be a Papa Smurf… who knows,” she said.
The couple is already raising two sons—RZA and Riot—born one year apart. Their first child, RZA, was introduced to the world when Rihanna stepped out for a photo shoot in Harlem in early 2022. Her bump was on full display under an open pink puffer coat from Chanel. They didn’t share his name publicly until almost a year after the incident.
In 2023, she confirmed her second pregnancy during the Super Bowl Halftime Show after fans had been speculating online. Her third pregnancy was revealed during the 2025 Met Gala when she walked the carpet with a visible bump.
Rihanna has kept much of her family life private, but she continues to control her narrative on her own timeline. And while she hasn’t said whether baby number three will be a boy or a girl, fans can expect another R name to join the lineup.
