Miss Jamaica Gabrielle Henry Is Out Of The Hospital After Devastating Miss Universe Fall
Miss Jamaica Gabrielle Henry is finally out of the hospital and continuing her recovery nearly four months after a frightening fall during the Miss Universe preliminary competition. According to a statement shared with Jamaican news outlet The Gleaner, organizers for the Miss Jamaica pageant confirmed that Henry had been released from the hospital and is currently recovering with help from her medical team and remains under close supervision as she begins the next phase of her healing.
Henry’s accident happened last November in Bangkok during the evening gown portion of the preliminary competition, when she fell through an opening in the stage. According to the report, the fall caused a fracture, intracranial hemorrhage, facial lacerations, and a loss of consciousness that required intensive care and around-the-clock monitoring.
In the months since the accident, the Miss Universe Organization has covered her medical, rehabilitation, and living expenses in Thailand, including accommodations for her mother and sister, who stayed by her side. The organization has also committed to covering future medical costs tied to her injuries.
Henry has offered glimpses of strength during recovery. In a February Instagram post, she described the experience as a time of “restoration and renewal,” saying the fall “shifted everything” but also showed her a strength she did not know she had. “A fall can uncover a depth of strength you did not know you possessed,” she wrote. She continued, “This period has given me space to reflect. I know my story is still unfolding. What happened was not an ending; it marked the beginning of building a stronger legacy, creating impact and leaving a meaningful mark. I remain committed to making my country proud and to inspiring every person I encounter along the way.”
For now, the reigning Miss Jamaica is focused on healing and taking things one step at a time.
