Zyah Belle, Jimetta Rose And More To Headline UPLIFT Concert In Inglewood
Cultural agency Trap Heals, which is founded by Damon Turner, is presenting a two-night concert experience in celebration of Black Futures Month titled UPLIFT and powered by Black Lives Matter Global Network.
Taking place at The Miracle Theater in Inglewood, California’s historic downtown, the vent will take place on Feb. 24 and Mar. 3.
Headlining the event’s first night will be recording artist, singer-songwriter, and producer Zyah Belle, who has recorded, written, and vocal produced for the likes of Snoop Dogg, Terrance Martin, Freddie Gibbs, and more.
On the second night, soul-jazz singer and choir Jimetta Rose and The Voices of Creation will headline. Since their Leimert Park debut in 2019, the choir has played at premier venues and events around Los Angeles such as The Broad Museum, The Westin Bonaventure, The Inglewood King Fest, and The Los Angeles King Parade.
Multidisciplinary artist pierre bennu will be on hand for the Damon Turner-announced event and is a known leader in providing one-of-one arts, music, and culture programming to Black and Brown communities.
The concert series will also feature the short film screenings released throughout this month by bennu, which will bring this Black Futures Month effort full circle.
