Drake's In-House Producer Shares Exciting Details on Views From the 6
Now that we know Drake's highly anticipated album Views From the 6 is slated for an April release, fans' focus has now shifted to wondering what the project will sound like. Seeing as the smash "Hotline Bling" and recent release "Summer Sixteen" are the only tracks fans have to judge from, it's probably too early to determine what direction the entire body of work will take, but thanks to Drizzy's in-house producer Noah "40" Shebib, we have an idea of what to expect.
40 caught up with the folks over at The Smokebox where he dished on Views. He says the album's production is all about balance, and Drake is currently in the process of finding ways to incorporate his passion for his hometown of Toronto and his new diggs in L.A.
"The time will come when Drake's ready to pull the trigger," he said. "For us, it's just a balance of finding that space to make such a project that's based around our city. And then also coming out here to the West Coast to escape some of the harsh winter and find a good creative space. It has to be a balance of both those locations for what it's supposed to be."
Also expect to hear a lot of 40's original productions on the LP, but it won't be like anything you're currently hearing in the current hip hop ot Top 40 music landscape. "I'm not listening to what's hitting the radio, what people are dropping," he said. "I'm trying to almost stay away from that stuff to focus on something different."
