Zoe Saldana's long-troubled Nina Simone biopic finally has a real release date — and even a poster. We'll finally be able to see what all the fuss is about on April 22, when the film comes out in theaters and on VOD.
The controversial biopic, in which Saldana stars as the jazz legend, has been under attack from the moment it was first announced by those who feel the Dominican and Puerto Rican actress is the wrong choice to play an icon of Black history. When the first photos of Saldana as Simone came out, featuring the slender actress wearing lots of prosthetics to achieve Simone's features, the outcry hit a fever pitch.
