Influencer and Police Officer Tommy Norman Arrested on Domestic Battery Charge
Tommy Norman, a longtime officer with the North Little Rock Police Department and a well-known social media figure, was arrested over the weekend on domestic violence charges, the department confirmed Sunday, according to reports.
A statement from the department details that Norman—a 27-year veteran—was charged with one count of third-degree domestic battery. Jail records show the 53-year-old officer is currently being held without bond at the Pulaski County jail.
Norman is widely recognized for his community engagement and large online following, with two million Instagram followers. He is known for traveling through neighborhoods, taking photos with residents, and launching initiatives like the Shop with a Cop program.
An arrest report said police were called shortly before midnight to a home for a reported assault and made contact with Norman’s wife, Rosalynd Nicole Norman, who is Black American, appeared visibly upset. She told police that during an argument, Norman struck her on the right side of her chest with the back of his hand. Officers noted what looked like a slight injury on her chest.
The report also stated that Norman told police his wife had been slapping at him during the argument, and he tried to block the slap, which caused the injury.
The department’s statement said Norman has been placed on administrative leave while both the judicial process and an internal investigation take place.
Norman has drawn national attention for his efforts to connect with the community and was one of 16 people to receive the Presidential Lifetime Achievement Award from President Joe Biden in 2021.
Court records list Norman’s next appearance date as Nov. 6. No additional information has been released at this time.
