ABC's mega hit Black-ish has become one of the most popular programs on the channel's Wednesday night lineup.
While the Johnson family continues to give everyone laughs and nuggets of wisdom every week, it seems as that narrative may be extending as one of the show's young faces is reportedly set to get a spin-off.
According to Deadline, Yara Shahidi, who plays college-bound Zoey Johnson on the show, is working with executive producer Kenya Barris in conjunction with the network on a proposed sitcom of her own.
The news was further confirmed by Entertainment Tonight, with ABC saying the college-set show is "in very early stages" with no concrete details in place just yet — not even a script.
This season of Black-ish saw 17-year-old Zoey grow up and come into her own as the eldest of the Johnson children. Some of the past episodes showed her visiting her mother Rainbow's (played by Tracee Ellis Ross) alma mater, Brown University, while considering potential colleges, and we also got to see her kill it at her internship at Teen Vogue, which she landed with the help of her dad Dre (played by Anthony Anderson).
The popular sitcom is currently in its third season.
