Ice-T Executive Produces and Hosts Documentary Exploring the 'Deadliest Drug Epidemic in American History'
Star of the drama, "Law & Order: Special Victims Unit", and veteran hip hop MC, Ice-T, will host an upcoming documentary special “Fame and Fentanyl”, it deals with overdosing and explores the role of law enforcement and criminal investigations in fighting the fentanyl drug epidemic.
As per Billboard, the doc will reveal the work of special agents who have brought to justice those pushing lethal doses of fentanyl.
“Everyone knows someone who has fallen victim to fentanyl,” Ice T says in the trailer. “These are the stories that everyone needs to hear.”
Deemed the “deadliest drug epidemic in American history,” as per the trailer, this gripping documentary promises a wealth of information.
“Fentanyl, for me, came out of nowhere. By the time I learned about the drug, I had already lost people to it,” Ice-T said in a statement, according to Billboard.
“It’s a poison in the drug world, and I wanted to do everything that I could to make people aware of its danger.”
In addition to shedding light on celebrity drug overdoses such as Michael K. Williams, Prince, Mac Miller, and Coolio, the film also gives voice to families who were able to reflect on the heartbreak and tragic loss of family members who had succumbed to a fentanyl addiction.
Personally impacted by the fentanyl drug crisis in America, Ice-T will executive produce the documentary special set to premiere Aug 25 at 9 p.m. ET on A&E.
