Mike Tyson Will Take On Jake Paul in a Fight On Netflix

The bout is set to take place on July 20 at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas.

Former undisputed heavyweight champion Mike Tyson will take social media influencer-turned-boxer star Jake Paul in a highly anticipated boxing match that will be streamed live on Netflix.

According to a press release obtained by BET.com, the fight will take place on July 20 at the 80,000-seat capacity AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas, which is the home of the Dallas Cowboys.

Tyson, who is 57 years old, and who last fought in November 2020 in an exhibition against Roy Jones,  confirmed that bout on X (formerly Twitter) in a caption that read, “We signed the contract.”

It is clear that Tyson is looking forward to getting back in the ring.

"[Paul has] grown significantly as a boxer over the years, so it will be a lot of fun to see what the will and ambition of a 'kid' can do with the experience and aptitude of a GOAT," Tyson said in a statement. "It's a full-circle moment that will be beyond thrilling to watch, as I started him on his boxing journey on the undercard of my fight with Roy Jones, and now I plan to finish him."

Paul fought former NBA player Nate Robinson—it was the second professional bout of his career where he scored a knockout that he parlayed into a boxing career. Paul now has a record of 9-1 with 6 KOs.

Paul also expressed his excitement about the upcoming fight.

"It's crazy to think that in my second pro fight, I went viral for knocking out Nate Robinson on Mike Tyson's undercard," Paul said in a press release. "Now, less than four years later, I'm stepping up to face Tyson myself to see if I have what it takes to beat one of boxing's most notorious fighters and biggest icons.”

“Within just two and a half years of founding MVP, we're about to produce the biggest fight in history, a fight in the biggest NFL stadium in the US, broadcast live, on the biggest streaming platform in the world – a testament to all we've accomplished in such a short amount of time,” Paul added. “My sights are set on becoming a world champion, and now I have a chance to prove myself against the greatest heavyweight champion ever, the baddest man on the planet, and the most dangerous boxer of all time. This will be the fight of a lifetime."

The event is Netflix’s latest foray into the sports world. Recently the streamer presented “The Netflix Slam,” a tennis matchup between Rafael Nadal and Carlos Alcaraz, the golf event “The Netflix Cup,” and in 2025, the streaming giant will broadcast WWE’s “Monday Night Raw.”
