Big Daddy Kane Remembers Wild Photoshoot With Madonna for 1992 'Sex' Book
Big Daddy Kane isn’t shy about his past.
The rap legend recently looked back on the wild time he posed for Madonna’s provocative 1992 “Sex” book, calling the experience nothing but fun during an appearance on Club Shay Shay.
During the interview, the Brooklyn native remembered being on a promo run with Madonna and Color Me Badd, visiting children in what he described as “upscale” hospitals, when she surprised him by referencing his track “Ain’t No Half-Steppin’.”
After he thanked her, the pop icon extended an unexpected invite, posing for the more risqué photos in her “Sex” book.
For Kane, it was an easy yes. “I like, ‘S*it, even better. Let’s do it,’” he told Shannon Sharpe.
Kane painted the scene, saying the day kicked off with pure energy.
“But let me tell you how real Madonna was, man. I mean, the day started off so much fun where I’m like, ‘ok, yeah, this the place to be. This is cool,’” he shared.
By the time he reached the set, things escalated quickly.
“Madonna comes running across the room, butt-ass naked. ‘Kane, so glad you made it.’"
From there, the shoot only got wilder. Kane described standing in the middle of the street, naked except for a thumb out, striking poses while Madonna snapped away.
“Not one single car stopped. Can you believe that? Fucking Madonna, nobody stopped for me,” he recalled.
That over-the-top energy set the tone for the rest of the day.
“Oh yeah, this going to be one amazing day… she on 10 already… yeah, she wilding already,” he remembered thinking.
And when asked if rappers today could pull off something as bold as Playgirl or an erotic book, Kane cracked, “I think that there’s rappers today that’s coming from doing that to become a rapper.”
After revisiting one of the most outrageous chapters of his career, Kane may soon be stepping into a brand-new one. BET.com reported that a rap supergroup is in its final stages of coming together, and Kane is part of the lineup.
The collective, fittingly called Mt. Rushmore, brings together hip-hop heavyweights Rakim, KRS-One, Kool G Rap, and Kane himself.
The outlet reports that the budget is “already locked in” and the project is “getting finalized.” Rumors even suggest Slick Rick could appear on one track, who recently returned with “Victory,” his first studio album in 26 years, following 1999’s “The Art of Storytelling,” which went Gold.
While the official release date, label, and full rollout remain under wraps, the anticipation is undeniable.
