Lizzo, Meek Mill, YG And More React To Donald Trump’s Impeachment
It’s the moment we’ve been waiting for: the impeachment of President Donald Trump. Yesterday (Dec. 18), the House of Representatives convened at the Capitol in Washington, D.C., where representatives are closer to the possible removal of Trump from the highest office in the nation.
In a record moment of history, nearly every Democrat in the House voted in support of impeaching the president on the grounds of abuse of power and obstruction of Congress. The charges were brought against Trump over his role in pressuring Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky to investigate political opponent Joe Biden’s son, Hunter, for information related to the upcoming 2020 presidential election.
The case will now go to trial before the Senate for further deliberation, where it’ll ultimately be determined whether or not Trump will be removed from office. Regardless, Trump’s impeachment comes as a welcome respite from his incendiary brand of politics.
