South Carolina Cop Recorded Violently Breaking Car Window of a Black Man During Traffic Stop

Many are wondering what happened after the camera turned off.

As cellphone recordings of police interactions grow in number, so do the questions surrounding many circumstances involving police. A video showing a police officer in South Carolina physically ripping a window from a driver's car has created more questions and a demand for transparency.

  • The video was posted by an Instagram user known as Norman Marsh

  • According to Bossip, the incident took place in Orangeburg, South Carolina. However, Marsh did not indicate the circumstances of the traffic stop, nor did he detail what happened after the camera stopped recording.

  • Many people slammed the officer for his behavior while also asking for Marsh to release more of the footage or describe what happened

  • This video resembles a 2015 video of a Texas police officer smashing the window of Scott Richardson. During a tense back and forth between the cop and Richardson, the officer broke the window, opened the door, and pulled Richardson from the car.

The incident resulted in Richardson receiving a charge for driving with an expired license and failing to produce his license when asked.
