Mos Def Lands Guest Recurring Role on Showtime's Dexter

The rapper/actor will play an ex-con on Season 6 of "Dexter."

When Mos Def isn’t recording music, he’s busy landing acting roles. The "raptor" (rapper/actor) has secured a multi-episode deal on the sixth season of Dexter, according to The Hollywood Reporter. He will play an ex-con who claims to have found religion but can’t seem to escape violence. Dexter (Michael C. Hall) is going to be the one to reveal the truth about Mos Def’s character.

Production of the sixth season of the Showtime thriller begins in June, and it will most likely premiere this fall (as per the usual for this series). Mos Def joins Colin Hanks, who will appear in 12 episodes this season as Dexter’s main nemesis, who happens to be linked to a series of grisly murders in Miami.

There’s no word on how many episodes Mos Def will appear in, but he is one of multiple recurring characters for this new season.
