Angel Reese Launches Endowment Focused on Empowering Girls Through Financial Literacy and Sports
Angel Reese is empowering young girls and women through sports, financial literacy and education with the launch of The Angel C. Reese Foundation.
The Louisiana State University basketball star initially teased the news at the Variety and Sportico Sports and Entertainment Summit.
In a release obtained by Essence, the newest endowment will “foster equity for girls and underrepresented groups through innovative and impactful initiatives, develop practical solutions to overcome systemic challenges, and provide comprehensive resources that empower a new generation of girls to excel in sports and successfully transition to the real world.”
Additional resources will include prepared basketball camps, financial literacy programs, scholarships, holiday events and ongoing community programming.
The Angel C. Reese Foundation will officially launch on August 19 at Reese's alma mater, Saint Frances Academy in Baltimore. To mark the occasion, the foundation is set to hold a Back-to-School Giveback Block Party.
This event aims to make a tangible difference by providing much-needed support to underprivileged children in the Baltimore area. Essential items such as school supplies, backpacks, clothing, food, hygiene products and living essentials will be donated.
