Metro Boomin Faces September 2025 Trial Over Assault Claims
Metro Boomin will face trial next year in a rape lawsuit filed by Vanessa LeMaistre after settlement talks between the two sides failed.
According to court filings reviewed by Billboard, the trial is set for September 23, 2025, following mediation efforts in July that ended without resolution. The lawsuit, filed in October 2024, accuses the producer — born Leland Wayne — of sexually assaulting and impregnating LeMaistre in 2016. She claims she blacked out after taking Xanax and drinking alcohol during a recording session at his California studio, later waking up in a different location, unable to move or speak as the assault occurred.
LeMaistre says she met Metro in Las Vegas that year and visited his studio after sharing the loss of her 9-month-old son. She alleges the assault led to a pregnancy and abortion and that the incident is referenced in the 2017 track “Rap Saved Me” by Offset, 21 Savage, and Quavo. Metro has denied writing the lyrics in question and maintains the encounter was consensual.
His legal team has called the lawsuit a “pure shakedown” and says LeMaistre fabricated her claims years later while under the influence of ayahuasca. “These are false accusations,” Metro’s lawyer Lawrence Hinkle said after the suit was filed. “Mr. Wayne refused to pay her months ago, and he refuses to pay her now. He will defend himself in court.”
LeMaistre’s attorney, Michael Willemin, said Tuesday that Metro “has failed to comply with basic discovery obligations” but that the case is moving forward. “Because of that, we are headed towards trial on September 23, 2025,” Willemin said. “We look forward to holding Mr. Wayne accountable in front of a jury of his peers.”
