True Love: Yandy Smith Details The Hardest Part About Being Away From Mendeecees

He began his eight-year prison sentence in January 2016.

Love & Hip Hop star Yandy Smith recently revealed in an interview what the most difficult part of being away from her incarcerated husband, Mendeecees Harris, is, and her response proves one thing: she fiercely loves this man.

At the top of 2018, Harris pleaded guilty to a drug-trafficking conspiracy that involved drugs being transported from New York City to the Rochester region. Despite his attorneys arguing that he played a "minor role" in the drug scheme, he was still sentenced to prison and eventually agreed to serve eight years at his plea.

Smith spoke with VH1 about how the ordeal affected her and their marriage.

"The season I learned the most was also the most therapeutic season for me and it was when we were hit with some really hard family times," she said. "Having to say goodbye to my husband for the first time was the hardest."

Above all, she admitted that she ultimately learned that her love for him knows no bounds.

"I learned how much I love him and how much I needed him and how much I could not live without him and everyday I had to learn how it was only temporary," she added.
